Paper Pumpkin is one of my favorite kits. For those of you that do not know, it is a monthly subscription. It comes right to your door each month and it’s contents are a surprise!! Included in the kit is a stamp set, ink spot, instructions and all the supplies to make the kit project(s). Each one is different and ranges from cards to packaging and more.
The Hope Box August 2021 kit included enough supplies to make 9 cards with envelopes (3 different styles) and some extra supplies to decorate the Paper Pumpkin box. I have to admit, the cards in this box were not my style, but I loved the colors and the pieces individually were awesome!
While these kits are a great value and a lot of people like to make the projects exactly as shown, I am known to stretch my kits. I will cut up envelopes, cards and other pieces, then add some extra cardstock for a base or layer and once in awhile add some embellishments. By doing this, you can usually more than double your cards, especially if the envelopes are decorated!!
For this card, I carefully cut an envelope open. By cutting off the bottom less than 1/8″ and then each side, you can save the large portion of the envelope. In this case, the back also had some great printing on it, which I saved for another card. I then cut the large envelope piece down and added a Blackberry Bliss layer to it and mounted it on a Mint Macaron base. The envelope already had some beautiful white butterflies, so just added the butterfly embellishments from the kit. I was also able to stretch the ribbon, by cutting it the length I needed and then cut it in half, as it was really wide. Love the frayed look it gave.
